Most of us were never taught what emotion actually is — only that we have to either manage it, suppress it, or fix it. This lack of direction left us at its mercy...
We feel enslaved to it, blessed by it, swept away by it, troubled by it - but we have never felt in control of its impacts, other than pushing it down or letting it take over! We brace against the negative emotions, and we blame ourselves for our lack of "control" as we yearn for better emotions and experiences!
You may not know how it is possible that in understanding the energetic "language" of emotion, you can completely transform from our collective experience of being victimized by it to actually shifting it, lifting it, and completely changing even our own brain patterns! This is a transformation you might have trouble believing, but I have the receipts.
This workshop is built on years of not just study, but personal experience. Like many, I struggled with depression and anxiety for decades. I fell a victim to its rhythms, unable to stop it or change it in any way. The best I could do was survive it, and it was not always a given that I would succeed. Not a comfortable place to live. After 2 nervous breakdowns and a life spent putting the needs of my constant companion - depression - first every day of my life, I was still persevering but I felt limited, disappointed and frustrated.
Then, one night in the middle of my third nervous breakdown, I tried something that changed everything. It was a tactic pieced together with focus, emotional awareness, desperation, and a growing understanding of how emotional energetics work.
Within 10 minutes of putting this idea into action, I realized that I had unexpectedly relinquished my victim status. I was no longer in imminent danger - I would survive the night! More even than that, I had deliberately made an authentic difference in something I had believed to be untouchable. But I kept going with it for 5 more days to make sure I would be safe. And to my shock, at the end of those 5 days I realized that I was free of the clinical depression and anxiety. I had thought that to be impossible, but it wasn't - it was real. The depression that had been with me for forty years was gone.
Not managed. Not subdued. Gone.
What changed wasn’t my personality or my circumstances. What changed was my understanding of emotion and energy, and how I could use that power to literally transform. To say that I was surprised is an understatement.
What I want to teach you is the starting point of this remarkable process by teaching you the truth about who you really are and how you do have the ability to build a life that matches you. That starting point is emotion - what it truly is at its core, and how we can change everything through our relationship to it. That starting point is this workshop: Your Emotions Are Not the Boss of You.
Instead of treating emotion as a problem you have to combat, we’ll explore it as information, energy, and access — and learn how small, believable shifts can change your relationship to your inner life in real time.
This is not therapy. It’s not positive thinking. And it’s not about “getting better”, though you will feel relief. It’s about orientation.

an understanding of emotion as energy, which helps you let go of emotions as part of your identity
how fighting emotions keeps them stuck
how 1% lighter emotions carry an unimaginable amount of power to shift darkness for you
how the nervous system responds to small, believable shifts
what emotional change feels like when it’s happening from the inside out
how to work with emotion without “shoulding” on yourself
This is about learning how to relate, experience, manage, and respond. To yourself. And how that becomes your great strength.
The 1% Solution™ The 1% Solution™ is a way of working with emotion that respects the nervous system.
Instead of trying to override, resist, or replace how you feel, it introduces a slightly better-feeling emotional signal to the "party" - to that internal place where you, your emotions and your reactions come together— and that small memory or knowing is small enough that your system doesn’t resist it.
Your brain doesn't tell you you're full of it. Your nervous system doesn't get jacked up from instant self-protection. Nothing in you starts a resistant argument for your limitations.
Instead, the nervous system does accept what’s being offered. And in including that smaller signal to the party, something incredible happens:

About Lori This workshop is offered through The Goodbye Good Girl Project, a body of work devoted to helping women step out of emotional self-suppression and into sovereignty inside and out — without force, shame, or performative empowerment.
Lori made her way out of many states of being that most of us, including Lori, would prefer not to experience: homelessness, clinical depression, anxiety. But she didn't stop there. She chose to work with her consciousness and discover how to transform her internal state of being, and her life, rather than just survive it.
